Resisting Oblivion/Resistere all’oblio/忘却への抵抗 
Activist Archives in Italy curated by Chelsea Szendi Schieder Gallery at the Center for Gender Research Oct. 23, 2023 – Nov. 11, 2023

As part of the outreach and communication planning for「のぼる」〇, we offered copies to various research centers (Waseda Gender and Sexuality Center, amongst others), autonomous and self-organized spaces (NAM NAM Space, Neon Book Club), and university libraries (Athens School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts) dedicated to themes of common interest: queerness and diverse ecologies. Aoyama Gakuin University Gender Research Center was among the many institutions that「のぼる」〇 reached out to. This initial contact led to a collaborative contribution to their exhibition resistere all’oblio held at the same research center between October 23 and November 11, 2023.「のぼる」〇 participated in a conversation on diverse perspectives and gender identities at the exhibition gallery space, which was recorded as part of the exhibition archive. This archive will be featured in the sequel exhibition that is to be held in Bologna, Italy in June 2024, representing cross-cultural engagement with the archive materials of Archivio delle memorie migranti, Archivio di storia delle donne di Bologna, and Cassero LGBTI+ Center.

「のぼる」◯ Launch at Dig A Hole Zines

We launched のぼる〇 with tea, coffee, and snacks. ato夢 created a live soundscape inspired by the zine. Our communities came and discussed, with an introduction to the project by curators Che Kyongfa (Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo) and Osaka Koichiro (Asakusa Gallery, Kyoto University of the Arts) and reading of extracts by aliwen, Chloe, Hanna. During the closing, aliwen did a DJ set to celebrate our audience. Dig A Hole Zines is a DIY art publication store & workspace supporting independent zine makers and publishers. Located in the lively neighborhood of Koenji, Dig A Hole Zines functions as an independent zine store, gallery, workshop venue, and live music space where artists, activists, musicians, and other creatives can present their work and engage in dialogue.
